With MP3 Tag Editor you can edit audio tags in several ways.
Edit tags using in-line editors:
Editing the tags of a single file directly in the list:
Select the cell you want to edit and click it twice or press F2 key. Press Enter after editing is over. The changed tag will be saved to the file.
Different tag frames can use different input elements. For example, ComboBox (a drop-down list) is used to select the track genre:
Editing tags of a whole folder directly in the list:
Select the folder cell you want to edit and double click it or press F2 key. Press Enter key after editing is over. The changed tag will be saved to all files in the folder and its subfolders.
Note: be careful when using this feature! The described feature of bulk tag editing works recursively and affects all files in the current folder and its subfolders, i.e. the tags of all files and folders in the specified folder, including those in subfolders, will be changed!
Edit using tag editor panel:
The tags editor enables you to edit tags of one or several files simultaneously (you should select them first). When you change the value of any frame, to the right of the corresponding editing field there will appear a button with a diskette icon enabling you to save only the changed frame without saving the others. The Save all button enables you to save all the current information.
The ID3v1 + ID3v2 caption in the upper left-hand corner means that the tags of both versions will be saved. You can change this option in the Options dialog or simply by clicking this text. The shaded [various] text means that the selected files have frames with different contents. Button Clear all will help you clear all tags and button Save all will save all changed tags for selected files.
Advanced tab contains controls for editing advanced tags. Lyric tab enables you to edit lyric for selected files. Picture tab enables you to edit pictures. You can work with several pictures. Just select any thumbnails and click on a button. Also, you can load a picture if you double click on any thumbnail.
Fill tags using FreeDB:
MP3 Tag Editor contains the internet search feature that will help you get the information on the album from the FreeDB database. Once the information is successfully received, the program will automatically fill in and save the information to the appropriate tags. This feature gives you good chances to identify albums and to fill in tags without having to type them manually. You can learn more on the FreeDB dialog topic.
