Invalid characters (/\: *? " |) in the new folder name will be replaced with the underscore character.

Quick Rename Folder feature:

Renaming by Quick Rename Folder (Menu->File->Quick Rename Folder) uses a special mask for naming folders. The mask works in the same way as for files and playlists. The following values are supported:

Character
Value
%1
Artist
%2
Year
%3
Album

For example, %1-%3(%2) will be Artist-Album(Year).

The feature works like this: the tag of the first file is read (if the folder was closed, it gets opened) and the folder is renamed according to the mask.

Invalid characters (/\: *? " |) in the new folder name will be replaced with the underscore character. In case there are no audio files in the folder, the optional warning message will be displayed.

Renaming using the Rename Folder dialog:

The Rename Folder dialog (Menu->File->Quick Rename Folder->Rename Folder) enables you to rename the current folder according to the specified mask.

The dialog allows you to see the feature work result. For that, there is a field with the new folder name created according to the current mask at the bottom of the dialog. You can edit the folder name before applying the feature. After the operation is over, the last mask is saved.
